Dental Veneers

What are the benefits of having veneers?

Veneers can be used in a multitude of ways but are mostly used to fix gaps in your teeth, straighten slightly crooked teeth and to cover discoloured or unpleasant looking teeth.

Are veneers the right choice for you?

Veneers are an extremely strong, but wafer-thin ceramic overlay, which is bonded to your tooth. This improves the colour and appearance of your teeth and involves little or no pain. The most popular types of veneers are porcelain and composite.

How long do veneers last?

Veneers can last for many years if looked after. It is important to remember that veneers are just like your own teeth and need looking after, so you should treat them as your teeth need to be treated.

Keep regular appointments to see us help keep your teeth and gums as healthy as possible.

Why should I get veneers?

Our dentists will assess to see if veneers are the right choice for you. Here are some of the reasons why you may wish to consider dental veneers:

  • Crooked teeth
  • Discoloured teeth
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Damaged teeth

Veneers will fix the appearance of a chipped tooth or broken teeth. We can also close gaps or spaces using veneers.

What is the process of getting veneers?

Once you are ready to go ahead with treatment your teeth need to be prepared for your new veneers.

A tiny part of the front of your teeth will be removed; it will be the same amount as the thickness of your veneers so that they sit perfectly.

We then take records and impressions of your teeth and gums. We send this to our dental laboratory so that they can make your veneers to fit your teeth exactly.

Whilst we wait for your veneers to be constructed, we will place temporary veneers on your teeth to protect the prepared surface of the teeth underneath.

We will invite you back once your veneers are ready to be fitted. We will try them in and show you to ensure you are happy with them.

Once you are happy, we will clean and condition your teeth so that we can glue your veneers into their correct positions

Finally, you will be left with a beautiful and natural looking new smile. Please note, we will always look at what the best options are for your smile so you can decide the best way forward.
