What are dentures?
A denture is made from hard-wearing material that mimics the look of teeth and gums to give your mouth a natural appearance.
What happens the first day you get dentures?
When you wear a denture for the first time it may take some getting used to when speaking or eating and chewing. It is normal for your mouth to feel sore or irritated when they are first fitted. It can take weeks-months for your mouth to become accustomed to dentures.
What if I can’t get used to dentures?
Ill-fitting dentures can be stabilised using dental implants . As few as 2 implants can be used to secure a lower full denture. Contact us if you would like to speak to our implant-trained dentist for further advice.
How do I look after my mouth if I have dentures?
It is important that you take extra care when conducting your hygiene regime so that you can avoid bad breath, tooth decay and gum disease. The hygienist will be able to show you how to best take care of your denture and gums.
